How often do you deliver?

A.

Once a month, BESTELJOUVLEIS distributor Burg receives shipments from the Karoo to meet the demand of all existing and new customers. The orders are therefore fresh at the beginning of the month and can be collected from his shop at 188 Edward Avenue, Centurion, 0157, on the day or day after return, or delivery can be arranged for a small fee. Delivery cost R80.00 Monthly recurring orders can also be placed.

What’s different about BESTELJOUVLEIS?

A.

We are not a butcher shop but a meat distributor for a selected group of farmers. The whole operation from slaughtering, cut up according to your choice, packing and rapid freezing is done on the farm in their abattoir. The lamb and beef is free range meat and the pork is organic. The meat that we provide is in line with our mission to ensure that it is:

  • No hormones
  • No Antibiotics
  • Delicious
  • Healthy

What meats do you sell?

We distribute a variety of different meats and different cuts. Usually, we are able to source and supply the following, subject to availability with the farmers:
  • Lamb - full lamb and half lamb
  • Ostrich
  • Ostrich neck
  • Warthog Salami
  • Warthog deboned hind leg - slightly smoked
  • Warthog eisbein
  • Warthog spare ribs
  • Biltong meat already cut, ready for spices and drying
  • Beef hampers
  • Beef mince
  • Beef braai wors
  • Beef fillet
  • Kudu braai wors
  • Kudu mince
  • Kudu fillet
  • Pork hampers
  • Shoulder bacon

What cuts of lamb are available?

A.

On a monthly basis, we usually offer the following different cutting options:
  • 1 leg, the rest cut into chops
  • 2 legs, the rest cut into chops
  • 2 legs and 2 shoulders, the rest cut into chops
  • All cut for chops and casseroles/potjiekos
When you place your order you are able to specify your choice of cut, and this will be fulfilled for you prior to you receiving your meat.

Do you offer a hamper packs?

A.

Yes beef and pork. We're able to offer an 11kg beef hamper pack that contains the following cuts of finest meat:
  • 1kg T Bone
  • 1kg Club Steak
  • 1kg Rump
  • 1kg Tenderised Steak
  • 1kg Rib
  • 1kg Goulash
  •  2kg Braai wors
  • 2kg Mince
  • 1kg Shin
The 12kg pork hamper contains the following:
  • 1/2 Leg 3-3.5kg You have the option to have it whole, in half or cut in chops.
  • 1/2 Rib 1.5kg
  • Shoulder chops 1.6-2kg
  • Rib chops 2kg
  • Goulash 500g
  • Rashers 500g
  • Pork sausages 500g
  • Knuckle 300-500g
  • Leg chops 1kg-1,5kg
It all adds up to 12kg.

Do you supply biltong?

A.

Of course! We also love biltong. It is pre-cut ready for herbs and hanging, in 5kg packs. We also stock beef jerky per kg. The price of biltong varies, please consult the pricing and ordering page for more information.

What are your prices?

A.

Our prices fluctuate by small amounts on a monthly basis, due to the price differences down with the Karoo farmers, dependent upon demand and availability. The latest and most up to date prices can be found on our pricing and ordering page.
